Book #25. So very good! "Cranberry Blend" is as hilariously funny as the previous 24 books were! The only thing that would make this series better would be if Layne were to release a new book every few months like she used to do.

I wanted to like this book, I really did, which is why I read it all the way through. It started out awful and just got worse along the way.

"Mrs. Quinn's Rise to Fame" is so incredibly slow. I'm a fast reader; I read at least 200-500 pages every evening. This book was so boring that it took me 3 evenings to read 22 pages (a mere 7%). I'd read a few pages before tossing it aside and picking up a different book, which I'd then read cover-to-cover before heading off to bed. As I don't like to give up on a book once I've started it, I read a lot of reviews on Amazon before tossing it aside entirely. Those which were written by readers who also found the book too slow either chose to give up early on, or they jumped ahead to read the ending. Those that read the ending suggested that the last 5 pages of the book were well worth reading, so I skipped ahead and read the last chapter as well as the epilog, and I'm so glad that I did. If the beginning of the book would have been written in a manner that touched my heart the way the ending did, I likely would have given this book a 5-star rating. It didn't. The 3-star rating is for the wonderful ending, which gave the book some redemption."Mrs. Quinn's Rise to Fame" is so incredibly slow. I'm a fast reader; I read at least 200-500 pages every evening.
