Have been interested in medieval lifestyles and practices, and was looking forward to Kama as an entertaining historical fiction of a Viking women.
Was disappointed. Was unable to connect with characters and the plot was very predictable.

I really wanted to enjoy this book because I so enjoyed her writing style and wit.. but, alas... as much as I enjoyed her characters, I began to falter.. urging the story to move on and reveal the many mysteries and intrigues that Kate had set in place. That didn't happen. So I reached the end knowing that I was unfulfilled as I had far too many questions and frustrations.I really wanted to enjoy this book because I so enjoyed her writing style and wit.. but, alas... as much as I enjoyed her characters, I began to falter.. urging the story to move on and reveal the many mysteries and intrigues that Kate had set in…

A jarring commentary on how ordinary people can turn on one another with a "matter of fact" viciousness. The story is not over-acted and the "simplicity" in telling of the dehumanizing acts and gruesome exterminations provides shocking impact of a needless war / hate. Moments before a mass execution of which he is to be a victim, a Muslim man calmly says to the Serbian General (.. hey.. I know you.. we know each other..) A study in the human condition. A love story becomes contorted and tortured... Angelina deserved accolades galore for this body of work.A jarring commentary on how ordinary people can turn on one another with a "matter of fact" viciousness. A tedious and wordy book. Too much unnecessary detail with a wispy and winding plot. Unsure why its considered to be " a novel of psychological suspense" because that - it is not!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Loved his characters, their relationships in creating suspense and also, the credibility of their inner fears and desires - and how these all mesh to form a beautifully crafted plot. A must read...

I quite enjoy Koontz novels and this appeared to be in that category except that Koontz kept going when he should have stopped. Too much happening that was just not credible... I expect that I will still read Koontz in the future

I loved this book! Yes the characters wouldnt win a Moral Award, they are imperfect and are pretty much within our societies. I rooted for Rachel because underneath the hurt, acoholism and shame, was always a good person. Beautifully and candidly written. A must readI loved this book! There was a lot in this book to keep one riveted but Turow seems to have deliberately slowed the pace. I believe that Turow's focus was creating and depicting characters and their relationships that would be credible, believable and haunting. In this respect the book was fantastic and will read Turow again. There was a lot in this book to keep one riveted but Turow seems to have deliberately slowed the pace. Enjoyed the imagination that went into creating the lives of - and events affecting the lives of these women. While biblical threads exists in the story there are also some deviations from the Bible.
Very interesting and well written!

Not the typical Grisham plot, but enjoyed the separation of Rudd's storytelling with the current life of the storyteller. As always, Grisham's charachters are believable and current issues are interwoven into each story to highlight contentious and troubling issues.

Loved the book.. Philippa Gregory has done a spectacular job in translating historically accurate information into a fiction filled with the anxiety, uncertainty and domination that women (and men) faced under the rule of Henry VIII. Bravo.

I was disappointed by this latest work. Yes it was interesting but was far from gripping - and the last chapter was the most disappointing part. Ants? King has a far better imagination than this as his other books have proved.

I found this to be a really entertaining book - and the family endearing. Its one of those worth reading and like that we get to know the family first before all goes haywire!

An entertaining read given that theres a growing list of convicted "killers" whose innocence was eventually proven after many years of incareration, last minute reprieves from the needle, and the difficulty in seeking legal relief after a jury has convicted! I found the story to be entertaining but then it became too unrealistic even for someone like me who has a huge imagination. There was some redemption with the ending.
