Joy Harjo is an old favorite of mine and I find it difficult to articulate just why. Perhaps because when I read her poetry I am transported to the southwest and can almost feel the desert breeze blowing.

It is a Cinderella story for grown ups. I can’t quite believe I’m championing Cinderella for adult women, but there you are.
There is nothing wrong with a happy ending, and when you can’t quite pull one off in real life—try fiction, it’s easier.
