A spine-tingling book. However, I didn't like the ending.

A heart-rending story of war and the utter pain it caused in Ethiopia. The ferocity of the women is awesome - their willingness to die for their country. Hirut gives reader a first-hand exposure of what misery war can cause.

A disappointing novel. The title seems inappropriate, since the book centered on Jana rather than her twin Bror. Secrets that remained untold was frustrating for me. Wouldn't recommend it.

A fast read. A little too much dialogue and descriptions (filler). As someone else mentioned, I think he's set this up for a sequel.

This novel, although thought-provoking, lacked a certain empathy by Bird towards the other characters. Although I finished reading this, I found it to be somewhat disappointing from what I had imagined it would be.

An amazing novel - learning about Trans individuals, acceptance, and beekeeping. I highly recommend this to lead us to become aware of the fullness of life.

Liz eluded the murderer as a teenager. She returns to participate at her best friend's wedding. Tragedy strikes when her godchild disappears without a trace. Liz begins to try and solve this and past murders of little black girls. It speaks to the very worst of racial hatred. The novel turns into a horror story that didn't appeal to me. This is why I gave it a poor ratingLiz eluded the murderer as a teenager. She returns to participate at her best friend's wedding. Tragedy strikes when her godchild disappears without a trace. The first part was a bit of a drag - knowing that Cork's wife was truly lost. Six months later, the tension increases as Cork and his partner take it on their own to discover exactly what occurred.

Not the best Patterson book I've read. There is no shortage of suspects. It would seem that the murderer(s) have been solved. The final twist would suggest a precursor for his next book

I've read a number of Fields' novels all of which were page-turners. The same applies to this one. Read it in 2 days and thoroughly enjoyed the suspense and tensions. No wasted words - just the straight story. Would recommend any/all of her books.

An excellent portrayal of an Iranian family, just prior to the revolution. The interrelationships of the family are as complex as the evolving political crisis. The good, bad and ugly of this family are well illustrated.

A compelling story that takes place in Auschwitz, one of Germany's extermination camps. Hugo has been sent to investigate the death of one of the Camp's 'doctors'. His initial belief is that the stories about the horrific acts being committed are exaggerated. He gradually realizes that the truth is far more hideous. In his search for the murderer, he meets Gioele, an 8-year old boy who is under study by Mengele. Hugo has his own secret that would put him in jail or worse. I would recommend this novel to those who look for deeper insight into this era.A compelling story that takes place in Auschwitz, one of Germany's extermination camps. A Harlequin-style story with PTSD as the main issue. Skipped over the pages and didn't finish it. A little too light for me - not my cup of tea! Wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants a novel with depth.

This was a pretty good mystery. Who killed Meredith and why? Suspects range over a number of people and it takes Eizabeth to solve the murder. Would recommend it.
