Classic parent's worst nightmare meets unoriginal writing. I don't recommend it.

A compelling page-turner with some weird sci-fi. Quite graphic descriptions of numerous killings, which is typical King, but I don't really care for it. Other than that I recommend it for an entertaining, brilliantly written read.

Keeps you interested and guessing. I liked it, but I'm thinking the ending is a little bit of a reach to believe the characters would really do those things.

It's like Lippman didn't have an idea for this story and then wrote about not having an idea. Disjointed and unrewarding.

I enjoyed all the differing perspectives on the death penalty, and the feelings of the characters and the way they responded to trauma. Food for thought and an interesting read

Loved the vivid description which is so well done, it brings the scene alive w/o the reader realizing it because the action/suspense keeps you enthralled. I thought the ending was a bit far fetched.

Another page turner by Larsson. It was a little difficult to keep track of the numerous characters, but in spite of that a very interesting plot line. Blomkvist and Salander are extremely flawed and yet, the reader really cares about what happens and wants them to conquer their demons.Another page turner by Larsson. A good ending to the trilogy, although my least favorite of the three. A lot of politics, consipircy theory stuff going on that was a bit drawn out in my opinion.

This is my least favorite Ibbotson book so far. The book goes off in so many directions and takes too long to cross paths and bring resolution. A disappointing ending and the evolution of the characters makes one dislike them instead of rooting for them. This is my least favorite Ibbotson book so far. I highly recommend this book. The author brilliantly writes from the perspective of a 9 year old and how Thomas perceives his own difficult childhood. Due to the abusive family dynamic, this book is not appropriate for children, though it is written at a grade 3 reading level. If a child is dealing with abuse, it would be a good book for a caring adult to read aloud and discuss. An excellent look at family roles for you sociology buffs.I highly recommend this book. This movie was really funny and way better than I thought it would be. Some of the humor is weird and gross, but only a few scenes. I didn't care for Pacino hitting Sandler with a chair or the grandma be clobbered, hitting a woman is never okay, even in comedy in my opinion (I don't care if it really was a guy, Pacino's character didn't know that). All that being said, I would watch it again when I need a laugh. This movie was really funny and way better than I thought it would be. Some of the humor is weird and gross, but only a few scenes. This book captures the culture of the day and makes timeless, profound statments about prejudice and human relationships. It is truly brilliant of Steinbeck to accomplish this in only 120 pages.

Awesome book. King is completely amazing to take a book that has no scene changes and keep you enthralled from beginning to end. I have to say the most creative adverb I've ever read, near the end, "footlessly".

While I could not put this book down, I was disappointed with the lack of depth. This book focuses on politics, but fails to give an explanation that evokes any feeling from the reader. *Spoiler Alert* The final mission that Katniss goes on is utterly pointless except to kill a few people off, and ends in complete failure. Katniss gets off scott free at the end and they all live happily ever after. Come on, Suzanne! While I could not put this book down, I was disappointed with the lack of depth. This is my favorite of the juvenile books by Ibbotson. She tends to have similar characters from one book to the next. However, this book deserves the awards it has won.
