Humorous for the most part, poignant especially near the end; "Lamb" is the quirky and cheeky odyssey of Jesus H. Christ's missing years as recounted by his best friend -- and forgotten apostle -- Levi "Biff" bar Alphaeus. It's perfect for…

Laugh out loud book to cheer up your mood. An Americana/Month Python adventure. A real challenge to open up and laugh at what we do so often try to protect. Runs the gamut of Christianity, Judaism, Bhuddaism, Hinduism. Too human to let you…

This is an irreverent and perhaps slightly exaggerated tale about Jesus and his buddy Biff growing up in their teens and twenties. I got a few giggles out of this. It helped to understand the jokes if you have some understanding of…

Lamb is the hilarious tale of Joshua better known as Jesus and his best friend Biff; they go on many adventures while Joshua prepares to become the messiah. This story is just plain funny and silly it has sentences that make you laugh and…

As a non-religious person, I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this book. Man, am I glad I picked it up. I had to stop three times in the first chapter to read something aloud to my husband, and I'm going to go out and purchase a…

This is my all-time favorite book. I always love Christopher Moore, but as a once-upon-a-time Catholic, the "good stuff" from my religious past is mixed with serious wit and the most LOVELY friendship. I have read it four times and every…

Very amusing and surprisingly insightful . Laughed, cried and re-examined what I thought I knew.

Some people with no sense of humor will dismiss this book as heresy, as they did Monty Python's "Life of Brian"! But I love it! It really fills in the years between when Joshua got left behind in the temple and when he started preaching…

One of my top 5 books of all time. This book will make you laugh out constantly; it will also make you think and ponder the story of Christianity. Just read it. You won't regret it.

Sept 3 2016, given to me to read by my sister (and she wants it back!) and not one I probably would have picked out on my own. Glad that she recommended it to me, it made me laugh, cringe, and ponder. I will check out more of this author's…

Hilarious as all-get-out and also very informative. The humor, while explicit in parts, is very much in the vein of Monty Python or Douglas Adams.

This book was not only hilarious, but also very informational. Obviously Moore takes quite a bit of artistic liberty in depicting stories and characters from not only the Christian Bible, but various other holy texts, but he does so in a…

This satirical novel is entertaining, irreverent, and intellectually stimulating. The text offers the reader both an element of escapism and a commentary on Christianity. With language and situations ranging from humorous to slightly…

Funny and hilarious. A great historical fiction for someone who doesn't know Christianity too well. I think he did do his research and this makes the content more meaty. Something I won't introduce to a Christian like my mom, though. lol

This is one of the best books I've ever read. It's also the only book I own in three different formats. Moore is sarcastic and hilariously funny. Biff's character is a masterpiece. My first and eternally favorite Moore book.

It appears that Moore is one of those “hit or miss” authors for me. I was less than thrilled with Practical Demon Keeping and Blood Sucking Fiends, yet I loved this book. Biff’s snark factor really tied it all together for me.

This book is hilarious! As a PK, it was very amusing to see this funny description of the "missing years" for Jesus' adolescence and early adulthood.

With creativity and humour, Moore fills in the blanks of Jesus' first thirty years from the perspective of Biff, Jesus' best buddy. Style is "Monty Python-esque". Some may consider the tale irreverent.
