This was a very enjoyable book. Almost more impressive is the fact that this was an accidental book. This was a "letter game" played by two writers, and it turned into this book.

The world of Jane Austen (though not her specific characters) becomes infused with magic. Delightful characters, determined heroines and puzzling heroes. There are two more in the series after this, but the first is the most engaging.
