Yes it was a bit of a slow start but sure got interesting. Hoping the BPL soon gets the two other books in this trilogy so I can continue the journey.

Fantastic fantasy novel that combines classic mythology and Victorian England.

This book got off to a slow start, but the series as a whole was phenomenal. The plot was unique and engaging!

I heard very good things about this series and so I went into this with very high expectations...and sadly those expectations were completely unmet. Basic plot of the story, spoiled selfish girl lived in India and after her mother's…

I really liked the Diviners, also by Libba Bray so when I saw this available on Overdrive I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. The occult and secret societies enhance the reader's understanding of Victorian culture. The characters…

It had potential but I found the characters to be a bit cliche and stale.

Loved this book when I was younger! Still holds up today.

This book raises good feminist themes for young readers, but it suffers from its lack of subtlety. The characters act and speak in ways that seem out of step with the age they're supposed to be living in, which makes it seem like the…

this was a really good book but the plot needs some work along with the climax

I felt that the essence of the plot was recycled: girl goes to boarding school discovers she's a witch/discovers she can see ghost/discovers she has a doppelganger. Nevertheless, what makes this book different than the others is the time…

I enjoyed reading about Gemma and how she learned that she wanted to be a person in her own right making her own decisions. I enjoyed the paranormal elements.

I thought this book was about an outsider throwing over the popular girls. But it was so much more, and I'm so glad I read it. Brilliant plot and characters!

I had a really hard time getting into the present tense at times, but what really killed me was characters acting out of character in order to move the plot along. There were many times I found myself asking "why the heck would you do…

I finished this book a few days ago, and it was pretty good. I really liked the characters, but there are more than one weird deer scenes...

First book in a trilogy that is everything Bewitching Season and Betraying Season should have been but sadly were not. This is the story of a strong female character, secret societies and magic, with just the right touch of romance,…

While writing in present tense can be extremely annoying to read, especially in a book with a historical setting, Libba Bray pulls it off beautifully. Each character starts off with less than obvious problems but later grows and develops…

The book stuttered at the beginning and took a bit to find it's legs. There was a bit of an awkward dance to get the least liked girl suddenly hanging with the cool crowd. A decent enough book, not spectacular though.

Really enjoyed the book. I found that the book had a good flow to it and there was rarely a moment in which there was an awkward; everything had a purpose to it, almost as though the author planned it that way. Even though the characters…
