Hopkinson's first novel, which is set in downtown Toronto. Her writing powers were yet to peak, but if you are intrigued by Carribean-inspired fantasy/sci-fi, then you should pick up this book!

I was expecting something along the lines of Octavia Butler, but despite similar themes I felt the writing, plot, characters, etc., were pretty flat in comparison. It's a very short book, but I couldn't make myself finish it.
