I read the middle section twice. One may not agree with the military strategy. But Marcus went through 6 days of battle, grief, loss, loneliness, hunger, extreme thirst, rifle shot wound, injuries and ant bites. He endure and survived;…

Unaware of this event occuring, I came across the movie and watched that first, which was a good movie. When I saw it was based on a true story I looked at the library to see if they carried it and checked it out to read. With the first…

Luttrell does a good job explaining to the reader what type of mental strength and discipline it takes to become a Navy Seal. While the physical portion of selection is tough, it's not nearly as hard, or important, as what it takes…

I found this book super interesting when reading about SEAL training and what war experiences he had. The SEAL training was particularly interesting to read about, but certain parts of the book can be a bit wordy and I found myself zoning…

Beyond belief what happens, thank goodness for them. Incredible story that I stayed up reading until 2AM more then once until I finished it, bawling for a lot of it. Excellent read.

Luttrell's book is very interesting and educational when it describes the experience of becoming a SEAL, and the process that candidates for the SEALs go through. And his re-telling of his personal experiences in Afghanistan were…

This story is genuinely told by a navy SEAL and reads as such. It's as if you're sitting having a coffee listening to a soldiers tale. I've always been curious about people who choose to put their lives on the line for their country.…

This was an excellent book and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys learning about our nation's military heroes and what they sacrifice to ensure the safety of our country and our way of life.

I thought this book was horrible. Marcus Luttrell apparently is living in a fantasy world and if you know about the military and read this book, it should be classified as fiction. The guy is delusional, and apparently the family of Mike…

I found Marcus Luttrell’s Lone Survivor – Operation Red Wing Seal Team 10 very slow going for the first half of the book; it was not my first US Navy Seal book. I guess I have read too many books about the Navy Seal training program and…

This book is exceptional. I read it in one sitting. Navy SEAL Sniper mission is almost completely wiped out by Taliban forces. One critically wounded SEAL is protected by a local tribe. (at great risk to the tribe.) Worth reading.

When President John F. Kennedy created the Navy Sea Air Land commando units, or SEALs, it was to act as an aid to democratic insurgency movements the world over [also the reason he saved the Army Special Forces from extinction]. …

Thank you to the navy SEALS and of course to all other veterans who have sacrificed to protect their country, as well as ours. I had a hard time fighting back my tears while I listened to the audiobook for this book. I agree with some of…

Man... If it wasn't for SEALs, where would we be? Outstanding book. Very well done and the suspense never lets up. Remember though that the author is a SEAL not a writer. So it isn't the best writing in the world but this is still a…

I have read a few books like this because 4 yrs ago my cousin was KIA in Afganistan. So far, this is the best book for describing what they go really go through in training to be SEALS & just how hard it is, physically & psychologically;…

Read this book in one sitting! The book Seal of Honor by author Gary Williams (2010) tells the story of the Navy Seals' Operation Redwing from the perspective of Lt. Michael Murphy (who was the only Seal not mentioned for the Medal of…

The basic story of what happened during Operation Redwing is quite compelling and very gripping. The men involved were truly brave and dedicated. The extreme bravado and the constant patriotic rants, specifically blaming the "liberal"…

This is a really good book written from first hand knowledge of what happened. During the Seal Training you can almost put yourself into the pain the guys are going thru. Some parts of the book put me in tears. If you are looking for a…

Another story about delusional, idealistic, American soldier that likes to say that he is part of some elite unit. If you have spent any time in a professional army and have been at the pointy end you will see the many flaws in this…

Another book I couldn't put down that shows the amazing dedication it takes to become a Navy Seal and their training never really ends. My second favorite book about a Navy Seal after "Fearless" by Eric Blehm which is available in the…
