Shiver features a sweet paranormal romance and an interesting take on lycanthropy. This is perfect for folks who hated how toxic Twilight was, but want to experience what "Team Jacob" could've been like.

Pretty good, but a bit slow .

Shiver is the first book in a trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater. It is a romance book that follows the love story of a human - Grace, and a werewolf - Sam. Grace was saved by Sam when he was in his wolf form, when Grace was 11 years old; she…

The writing is great, but the book generally isn’t that brilliant. Shiver is similar to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight, with the same “a teenage girl falls in love with a mysterious boy who has a paranormal secret” plot. The central conflict…

The novel Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater is a heart-touching love story that tells the story of the relationship between a girl and a werewolf. The protagonist Grace is attacked by wolves when she was 11 and was dragged into the woods.…

This was an incredible, emotional, and mind-blowing read. I was captivated by the book and could not put it down, it was as if I were in the shoes of the protagonist, Grace herself. The plot starts off with a girl named Grace who, at the…

'Shiver' is a love story between a werewolf called Sam and a girl called Grace. Right from the beginning we know that as a child Grace was bitten too but never 'changed.' Ever since, though, she has been fascinated by the wolves who live…

This is a must read for fans of supernatural romance. The author takes the traditional werewolf tale, and turns it into a sensual story of forbidden love and the inevitable danger that comes with it. Grace has always watched the wolf…

Wow this book was absolutely STUNNING! This book is a series and the moment that I finished book one I immediately had to pick up book two, that's how much I loved this novel. Maggie Stiefvater did an amazing job of transporting us to the…

When I started reading this book, I was thinking "uh oh, it's romance." At the time I hated romance books, but fortunately I was the type of person who finish the book rather than quit it. This is the first romance book I read and made me…

This was a interesting book. It was a different genre then I normally read. At first in the start of the book I was bored though it got more interesting. I am glad I read it.

Started off interesting, very fluid but can be dragging as you read through. I did enjoy the novel, but this seemed a little young for my tastes-- which is to be expected as it is a YA novel. The interactions are soft and sweet, and you…

It's Twilight but with werewolves. Grace is the independent teenaged girl, Sam is her hip, sulky boyfriend With A Secret. (Psst, he's a werewolf.) Grace's parents are so not parental. Isabel is the ice queen popular girl who must befriend…

Wow. I'm surprised by some of the high star ratings on this book... Purple prose with two protagonists that I simply could not care about nor root for. Grace is infatuated/obsessed with her wolf (aka Sam) and doesn't seem to care about…

This book is just like a la croix. It has the right ingredients but tastes like nothing.

I LOVED the style of the prose of this book, and the way the author describes things makes you feel like you are really there. Towards the end, there are a few sad parts, and the author succeeds in giving you a feeling of loss. I thought…

If you love teen romance novels, with a little paranormal flair then this is one for you. It is a series, so the fun doesn't have to stop here.

Grace was just the girl from the house behind the woods. She was the wolf girl and she had been ever since her algid abduction when she was young. It was said that she was dragged into the woods by a group of wolves like many others before…

this is so good. I was expecting something totally different and I was pretty impressed. At about the end I started crying and had to stop reading 'cause I couldn't see the words. I can't wait to read the next two books. So glad I read this

I really enjoyed reading the book, there was something to look forward to on every page. I'm very excited to read the next 2 books in the series. Hopefully Grace and Sam will be together in the end!

This was definitively "meh". It focused too much on the romance (I know, I can't believe I'm saying that) and frankly the romance was a little creepy. It needed to be fleshed out more. Probably won't read the sequel.
