Mantel is a fine writer and I loved Wolf Hall. Beyond Black is a smaller story. Set in England at the turn of the millennium. Our protagonists are a medium and her assistant. Both are complex, flawed & well realized. I'm sure others…

A disturbing but fascinating story told in extraordinary fashion by Hilary Mantel. Greatly enjoyed it even if I got a little lost in the middle.
