I didn’t like this movie. It was too much robocop, too many stupid fight scenes, the plot was incoherent, the acting was substandard, a waste of my time. Don’t bother to watch it.
The production value (set design and costumes), pacing, and editing of this film is excellent. The basic story is kinda cheesy. With a strong 'cyberpunk' theme its plot was unimaginative. The whole idea: that the rich living in a giant…

Scientists can find THE VOID in this movie. This Hollywood extravaganza so utterly lacks - plot, characterization, development, plausibility, enrichment of any sort.
Of course, lobotomized fifth-grade-level, super-dumb-down American…

This might be a decent SF/dystopian film if it wasn't obviously 160% agenda-driven delusional-commentary drivel. Oh, right, Matt Daymon is in it .... what a surprise.

This is a movie of Hope. Everyone has a mission in this Life, in this world; everyone has a calling to follow; people are connected for a reason: to make changes, to give people a new vision, to be better human beings, to evolve. Inspiring.

Another dystopian movie that just might end up coming true with the way things are going. The ending was unrealistic though. If you want a similar movie/story, check out the movie Alita: Battle Angel, the anime Battle Angel Alita, or read…

I thoroughly enjoyed this sci-fi movie with Matt Damon. The main idea is that Max Da Costa lives on a crappy and polluted planet. The goal is to fly into orbit and get into a living sphere called Elysium. In the movie, we also learn…

It was actually a lot better than I thought! I like the ending because it isn't the typical superhero ending. There's also a lot of comedy in this one, so be ready for it!

I like sci-fi books and movies so I thought I'd give this film a try. What a mistake! I was so bored by the level of active violence throughout the film that I fell to fast-forwarding a bit toward the end. I don't flinch from violence…

People tend to either love or hate this movie. I loved it. It had a decent science fiction story with just the right amount of social commentary, which is the standard for Neill Bloomkamp movies. The 'soft dystopia' of future earth was…

Lots of action...almost too much & too fast to follow! How does the hero survive all the punches & bullets & electric shocks? I mean even with that mechanically enhanced body! Suspenseful & dystopian SF but I liked Automata more.

Typical action/sci fi movie - not as bad as it seemed critics thought, even got some feels near the end. Lots of fight scenes. Some logic issues but still decent. Never saw district 9

I really enjoyed this movie. It is neither subtle nor embarrassed to wear its messages on its sleeves. Anyone not wanting to have their privilege rubbed in their face will likely not enjoy this movie. For the rest of us, this is a largely…

This is a 2013 American dystopian SF action thriller directed by Neill Blomkamp.
The film takes place on both a ravaged Earth and a luxurious space habitat (rotating wheel space station) called Elysium.
Although the story is simple and…
