I could not put this book down it was so good. I loved the supernatural elements and I liked how the author put a spin on ghosts I had never read before. I also liked how the narrative is woven within the plot.

This fits the bill perfectly for a good-but-not-taxing YA winter's weekend read: an easy to get into (I imagine even for reluctant readers), creepy and occasionally terrifying ghost story set in London, mainly around a boarding school…

I recommend this book whole heartily. Maureen Johnson's plot twists made is a really good ghost story. I agree with moodyjanet's comments. Nicola Barber's performance kept me from enjoying the story. The faux accents aside, her…

The Name of the Star was a great murder mystery except it was a bit gory. Still, it was a facinating read dealing with mystery and the supernatural. I can't wait for the next installment of the shades of London.

It has some exciting and edge of your seat parts but it is not really about Jack the Ripper. Good for fans of murder mysteries.
