Opinion

From Library Staff

Jim Dale pushed audiobooks into a new era with his narrations of this beyond-famous series. If you've got a really long trip ahead of you, all seven books will last you more than 116 hours, but the books get pretty dark at the end! Also available to download.

One of the discs is scratched and a few of the tracks won't play. **Note - I fixed the problem on disc 6, now all tracks play**

I only managed to read Chapter One of the first Harry Potter book. The story just did not capture my interest or imagination, so I decided to listen to the audiobooks. They were fantastic! Jim Dale, the reader, is amazing. It's unbelievable that one person can become a whole cast of weird and wonderful characters. I highly recommend them for anyone like me who was not captivated by the books or fans who want more Harry Potter.

Jim Dale's readings of the Harry Potter books are all worth a listen - I have listened innumerable times to these! And I do prefer him as a reader to even the British audio HP books that are read by the great Stephen Fry, Jim Dale does individual voices for different characters, it is superb and fun.

One of the best books I have read. Everyone needs to read this book.

Jim Dale's readings are always a pleasure, and keep the Harry Potter books fresh and enjoyable for me.
