The book Artemis Fowl was a very clever way of putting Eoin Colfer’s wildest dreams into action. Like the way you made the entire fantasy world look like it could be real like having Artemis be one of the first to discover the hidden world of magical creatures and how the magical creatures have hidden themselves so well. I especially liked how you made the perfect combination of Artemis Fowl the mastermind and Butler the huge body guard that can take a hit from just about anything and shrug it off like it was only a flesh wound. Artimis Fowl one of the world’s greatest masterminds and he is only 12 years old has discovered one thing the world could only dream of discovering the hidden world of mystical creatures. He found a copy of the fairies book that tells him what the fairies believe and how they work but before he could discover the secrets of the fairies he had to figure out how to decipher it from the fairies native language, but once Artemis deciphered the language he could then outsmart the entire fairy kind. Holly Short a fairy more specifically an elf was part of a secret organization called LEPrecon which was an organization meant to keep us humans from finding their world. Holly was on a recon mission that turned in the wrong direction when a giant troll came smashing into an Italian restaurant she then flew in and took out the troll using its weaknesses and saved all of the people in the restaurant she then had to make them all forget what they had just seen. After that when she went to go complete the ritual to restore her magic she was kidnapped by Artemis Fowl and held captive until he was satisfied with what he got. The LEPrecon unit sent a troll to destroy the Fowl manor and Butler got stabbed in the lung with a poisoned tusk and still took down the troll without dying only by getting healed by Holly’s magic. I think the best part of the entire book was when butler took on the troll got stabbed in the lung with a poisoned tusk got healed by Holly’s magic and then took down the troll with a mace. The worst part of the book was when Holly got captured and was kept in a cell they could have exploited her abilities a little bit more. I found this book very action packed and thrilling and I can’t wait to start the other books. The book was entertaining and addicting to read but overall it was inspiring it inspired me to read under the lines of life and not to read only the lines.

This was a fun series to read and Eoin Colfer is a great author! I've spent many nights reading until dawn to finish his books. But I did hate to bring these books to school because I was always ridiculed about reading books based on a 12 year old criminal mastermind who captured fairies. But whatever; they're the ones who are missing out! All in all, this particular series was AWESOME!

allisonallain, you seriously need to start using the SUMMARY page!

Artemis Fowl was witty and clever. Very good book and decent plotline. But the bathroom humour was a bit much for me.

I just recently read this... well, actually I listened to the audiobook, but the book is AMAZING =) So far, I'm on The Opal Deception. The Eternity Code was the funniest, but it was kinda sad... =(

Amazing! Great first book to the series, expecially the parts featuring Artemis. Artemis is my favourite character of all time! He's the one that makes the book worth reading! If you like this book as I do, after you finish reading it, then read the rest of the series! Most of them are just as wonderful!

A young criminal named Artemis Fowl must recover his memories of the fairy world and save the human world from colliding (again!). With the help of his body guard, dwarf friend, and elf friend, he must defeat an evil fairy.

Artemis Fowl is a crimal mastermind, and his trusty friend, and bodyguard, Butler, who has been with master Fowl sine the day he was born, have discovered that fairies, elf's, and all those mystical creatures are real! With the help of a fairy, he gets the creatures book, or fairy bible, and wants to kidnap a fairy. He succeeds and kidnaps LEProcon's first female police officer, Holly Short. Now, the whole LEP police force must get there former officer back by giving Artemis Fowl a lot of gold, at the end, Artemis Fowl gives half back the gold given to him, if Holly promises to heal his mother's depression from him father being lost for 2 years. Reluctantly, she agrees. Artemis Fowl then let's go of Holly, and everything works out in the end, except that Artemis Fowl now knows the secrets of the under ground fairy world, and will now continue to learn all about them in his next books, and will meet up again with his enemys.

Artemis Fowl is a really good book because there is no antagonist, there is only two competing protagonists. One of the protagonist is more of a group called the LEP. Artemis Fowl is the other protagonist. His goal is to get fairy money from the LEP, the fairy police, by giving them a ransom note because he had kidnapped one of their officers.

Other: some intense crude humor. Parts of it I don't mind, but others.... it would be way better without that stuff.
