From Library Staff

Alix's mom was in a coma when the wall fell--and surely if she finds out what happened, she'll have a heart attack. The laugh out loud comedy builds as deception adds to deception, but is this not also a parable about the changing times?

Good acting, with a nice touch of humour in all the right places.

Really wonderful movie-- captures an important moment in history, also shows convincing portrayals of individuals living their lives at that moment.

Witty comedy whereby a young man goes to great lengths to hide the unification of Germany from his sick mother.

Not very many movies combine humour and drama as gracefully as this film. Subtle and brilliant! It's also fascinating to revisit this historical moment when Berlin reunified.
