I would absolutely recommend this horror book, and believe me, it's scary. It's more of a psychological thriller than a supernatural possession and is way better than the movie. The Alice in Wonderland parallels and psychological demise of Jack Torrance are gripping and will leave you a little haunted. P.S. The story ends happy while the movie ends sad.
P.S.S. You may be afraid of your shower curtain after this.

This story is disturbing and creepy. Just what you would expect from Stephen King.

The father makes the story.

A man, his son and wife become the winter caretakers of an isolated hotel where Danny, the son, sees disturbing visions of the hotel's past using a telepathic gift known as "The Shining". The father, Jack Torrance, is underway in a writing project when he slowly slips into insanity as a result of cabin fever and former guests of the hotel's ghosts. After being convinced by a waiter's ghost to "correct" the family, Jack goes completely insane. The only thing that can save Danny and his mother is "The Shining".

Isolated in a haunted hotel a young boy discovers ghosts while his father slowly goes insane.
