The acting is very strong, as some reviewers have noted. Rosamund Pike is especially good--I would watch her in ANYTHING. If Nancy Mitford lovers are slightly disappointed with this, it's only natural. It's hard to recapture the atmosphere of England before the war.

This film started out strongly, but finished so weak. The characters were very well cast, but one didn't have much empathy for them as their poor decisions were reflected in their lives.

Very funny! Great acting especially the performances of Alan Bates and Anthony Andrews (his frequent smarmy leers are priceless). Be sure and watch out for the Bolter.

Disappointing. The movie combines both Nancy Mitford titles: The Pursuit of Love and Love in a Cold Climate - and this results in so much of the characterization and the humour being removed. Too ambitious and it falls a bit flat.
