This book is a MUST READ for anyone who struggles with too much stuff (clutter) in their home. I am putting the principals to use right now, and I love the transformation not only in my home, but how comfortable I feel in my own home for the first time ever.

Peter Walsh came to prominence as one of the resident organizers on the TV show "Clean Sweep". What made him stand out is that he, more than the other organizers the show hired, seemed to understand the emotional attachment that people have to their stuff.

This attitude carries over to his book where he first advocates a quick purge where you go through a room and get rid of anything you can right away. This includes the garbage. Anything that has an emotional attachment, you leave until later.

Easy to read, Walsh, like other authors in the genre, break down the house into zones to help you with the purge.

This is my favorite home organization book. I re-read it at least once a year to get me motivated again.

Encourages the reader to assess the true value of their posessions as related to their goals and values in life. Helps to overcome emotional attachments to certain items while validating cherished memories. A very practical book.

Also available in audio format.

Effectively combines inspiration to reduce clutter with practical suggestions just about anyone can follow. Especially incisive on the topic of dealing with other people's stuff that's in your way.
