Okay, I am hooked. On to Season Two.

My brother really like this show, so I'm gonna check it out!.......May 31...watched a couple of episodes before I had to send it back. Pretty interesting. Pretty violent! Looking forward to watching more, but not with my kids!

This is the series that made HBO what it is today. The extensive story and the characterization involved in a show of this magnitude is evident from the get-go. The finale, "I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano", is one in which things hit the brink. Nothing is as it was, but the question is, what will change in the future? Family life and professional life are colliding and neither is so grand. Things need to change: friends learn things about the people they thought they knew, the business is potentially changing hands, secrets are revealed, and relatives are confronting each other and their own sets of friends, making revelations of their own. Meanwhile, some people are keeping up their facades and the stream of lies keeps flowing, just to keep the family business afloat. The thrill doesn't end here; it's only just beginning. I would highly recommend volume four of the first season of this groundbreaking series.

This is an adult themed series with a romantisized good/bad guy image. There are several nude scenes like in Rome and others. The language is gutter style swearing. Not for children at all. As an adult wouldn't take this as more then a small and cleaned up version of life in the "mob", it is fiction and should be taken as such. With that in mind I was entertained to a point but wont recommend it to anyone I know.

I did not like how play the roll the man with play tony soprano.

i had heard several reviews and references to this show over the years, but i never got around to watching it. i was impressed with season one's development and finale, and so placed holds on seasons two through six. however, toward the end of season two i could tell the writers were blocked or stalling. now i'm three episodes into season four and the plot seems mostly dead. i find myself constantly fast-forwarding. i've cancelled my holds on seasons five and six.
