Add a CommentA remarkable film on all counts. Tolkien filmmaker Peter Jackson's creative imagination is clearly evident with Pauline & Juliet's fantasy clay people sequences. I didn't realize that "Two and a Half Men" supporting actress Melanie Lynskey was a fellow New Zealander. It was weird hearing her native accent here as a pouting, rebellious teenager. She and Kate Winslet were obviously destined for bigger things with these feature film debuts, although I'll say Winslet's was the standout.
What a horrific and strange story, hard to believe it's real! The acting is amazing, and the way the film is laid out, is incredibly creative.
Terribly sad, and strange, the story that is, the film was great.
