Item Details

Led by Captain Jack Harkness, the Torchwood team delves into the unknown and fights the impossible. From an underground base built on a rift in time and space, the team responds to any alien threat-- a meteorite crash landing, sightings of extra-terrestrial technology, an unusual autopsy report, the spread of a deadly alien virus. Everyone who works for Torchwood is under 35. Some say that's because it's a new science-- others say it's because they die young.

awful. like the later seasons but this one had terrible cardboard acting, stupid premises for plots. what's with the flying pteradactyl in their headquarters - no one ever mentions but it was helpful in pecking one baddie to death. weird combo of adult themes but aimed at 5 yr old sophistication.

Disappointing - not just the fact that the first two CDs (only two watched) had scratches and were partially unwatchable, but a great disappointment to any Dr Who fans who had any expectations at all.

like a truely terrible doctor who rip off. Not worth it.

Terrible, the first couple episodes had some really Stupid, not to mention disgusting ,rude, inappropriate parts.
The Characters were really annoying and the main story theme thingy was really lame.

I wouldn't suggest this to anybody,
but if you're looking for something Sci-fi DR.who is the best ever :D

Since I loved Captain Jack Harkness so much in Doctor Who I thought I'd give Torchwood a try. Sadly I had a hard time getting into it. The characters are all rather annoying, including Jack, and the cases aren't that exciting. It lacks the humour of Doctor Who as well.

Disc 5, the last episode locked up the DVD player and stopped playing.

For my tastes, and as a huge Doctor Who fan, this entire series is absolutely revolting! It's well acted and produced, but the stories and characters are simply NOT in the same spirit and polish as Doctor Who. Captain Jack is good in Who, and here he's morbid and distant. This is not a family show with extra gore and sexual perversions. Would have been better off as an American R-rated movie! Mixing it in to Doctor Who is dissapointing. A pox on it.

Great show. Definitely first heard about Harkness and Torchwood from watching Doctor Who, but after going back and watching the Torchwood/Doctor Who cross over episodes, I've realized I enjoy Torchwood much better. More action, more humour, more sex ;) More fun!

This is fun sci-fi. It isn't great, but it is engaging. The overall mystery of the main character is fun. The stories and dramas are a bit thin. It is sexy and intense, gory at times, and something is always stretching your imagination.
