Add a CommentIf you know The Clash from London Calling, Sandinista, or Combat Rock don't be surprised if you find this LP a bit shocking. This is where it all began with searing blasts of adrenaline punk mixed with some of the greatest cover versions of all time. Who thought that Bobby Fuller Four's "I Fought The Law" could be such a powerful vehicle? This is most of the original 1st LP released in the UK (minus a few tracks such as Protex Blue and 1977) with some later tracks skillfully added into the mix. If you don't like it the first time through, take the time to get used to the jagged edges. It's worth the time. A true classic.
every good clash song is on here (ok not all of them but all the good early stuff is on here). these guys were a big part of my millitant youth. they just don't do music like this any more. it's all rap and crap (pardon my english). i miss going to places you wouldn't normally go for a concert and seeing acts like the clash (i mean the kinsmen field house ) back in about 1977 or '78).
Some might call this the Clash's debut album...I call it their first shot in an all too brief career.
