Gard just doesn't fit in with his peace-loving family. Because he's 1/2 demon.

Gard is half-demon, and just doesn't fit in among the passive and gentle Yendri. His attempts to fight for justice get him exiled, then taken as a slave by the sorcerers in the mountain.

Kage Baker is one of my favorite authors because her stories are original and introduce new worlds and ideas. She also spends time developing her characters and makes them interesting. The House of the Stag is a page-turner and it was hard for me to put it down. I recommend this book as well as her others.
