Our 8 1/2 year old boy was spellbound by this series, we'd read a chapter or two each night at bedtime and we found it a delightful story. Even our 11yr old girl could help but listen each night as the story unfolded, and both parents snuck off with the book after kids lights went off to finish the book.

We totally disagree with the "Kirkus Review" of "skip it"!
