Opinion

From Library Staff

Picture book nonfiction, telling the story of the moon landing in short, poetic form that is really accessible for adults and kids both. Also try Locomotive by the same author.

Simply told, grandly shown, here is the story of adventure and discovery--the flight of Apollo 11 mission to the Moon.

My five-year old sons loved this book. We especially loved the free form verse style of writing. It was a lovely reading experience for the whole family.

great pictures and interesting information

My 1.5yr old loves this. We read it a couple of times before we showed her a YouTube video of a shuttle take-off, but she was more interested in the book instead of the video clip. Great illustrations.

My 3 yr. old son loves this book. It makes him want to become an astronaut.
The writer does an amazing job of describing the whole experience to a yound child. He uses a kind of free form poetry.
