Harper Lee Morgan has a way with words and she wants more than anything to read her poems at the school poetry contest. When her mama loses her job and they are evicted from their home, Harper must stay home from school to take care of her younger brother. Nothing is working out they way Harper wanted it to, but she discovers that the audience that she is looking for has been right there all along.
