The ending felt a bit abrupt to me, but I really enjoyed this book! The characters were fun, the world was exciting, and the plot thrilling!

Alan Cumming is a fantastic reader - one of my favourites!!! He does the whole trilogy, and I recommend them all.

A book from the Steampunk genre, this is an excellent title! Combining dna and mechanical engineering are fascinating principles and the author embeds these themes in an exciting adventure. Deryn Sharp is a midshipman with a secret who meets Aleks, who is really a prince of a European empire. Explores an alternative future. Well done.
