I wasn't as thrilled with the story and how it ended, and basically the book was a tad boring and felt like it took forever to read. There were some exciting points just like what had been previously provided in the previous novels, but nothing is usually as good as the original.

An appropriate end to an entertaining series, but my frustrations continued with Katniss's lack of understanding and acceptance of who she is and what she could become, as well as her total absence from key moments of the story--including her own trial! The quick resolutions with the men in her life sum up my general feeling: That these stories were written to fit the format of the books, when so, so much more could have been told.

Totally agree with DROK77 below. This story has fallen apart and except for curiosity about the author's intent, it is not worth the read. I think she has set us up for a 4th story, judging by the survivors in the Capital and where things are going with her two lover boys. Give it a miss unless you are desperate for a quick read.

**spoiler alert** Sometimes stories just fall apart. This one started to crumble with Catching Fire. I loved the theme that was subtle behind the first and fast-paced Hunger Games, but when the theme came to the foreground, the story lost all its luster. I stopped caring. How can you care about a world that is built up as hopeless? I knew it would end dark, but I thought it would somehow be justified tragedy. I read old Greek shit all the time, and I love the heart-wrenching endings they have because I see the point, the message, the reason I gave up so much time reading something. I don't know what Collins wants me to take away from this. I could have dealt with everything that made this story fall apart if Katniss wasn't such a disappointment. I know that people shut down when they go through just one of the terrible things that happens to her, but I don't care about what normally happens. Stories are about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and she wasn't extraordinary. She was defeated, and there was nothing redeeming about watching her sink further and further into despair. I was expecting people to die in this book, and I was okay with that. But the deaths were so meaningless, and I was left with no closure whatsoever. Tragedy is fine, but you have to make sense of it in the denouement, and all we get is despair. I don't know. Maybe I'll like it better after a few days, but usually when I read something sad, I recognize the beauty in how true it seems, but I'm not seeing it yet.

Loved all three books, especially Mockingjay. I read one bad review and was hesitant - shouldn't have been. All books were very well written and plotted - especially the last one! It was my favorite...

I love this series. Kind of dark, but very good. I didn't like Mockingjay as much as I liked the others... the ending is sad =*( As much as I admire Suzanne Collins, I do not do well with sad endings. I grow very attached to my characters.

loved these books I Am ordering the last one today .Mocking jay..Stayed up one night until 5 in the morning reading the last one

This book was the best. You should all read the epilogue. Many people don't read it at the end, but here in this book you should. What happens is so cute, adorable, and romantic. This book was sad, when a few people died. FYI two sets of couples get married. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!

Young Katniss Everdeen has survived the dreaded Hunger Games not once, but twice, but even now she can find no relief. In fact, the dangers seem to be escalating: President Snow has declared an all-out war on Katniss, her family, her friends, and all the oppressed people of District 12. The thrill-packed final installment of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy will keep young hearts pounding.

Katniss Everdeen is the Mockingjay. She's the leader of the rebels, staged against the Capital. She's assigned to take it down, to motivate people, to encourage the rebellion. But with Peeta in the Capital's hands, saying rebellious things to the world, District 13 is absolute sure that Peeta is a traitor, however, Katniss does not. When it is arranged for a rescue, Peeta comes back enraged, and controlled by the Capital's tampering. Katniss soon loses hope in Peeta, and begins to train for the offical day of the rebellion. When it is time, Peeta comes along, better, but still suffering torturous flashbacks. Through the mission, they lose Jackson, Leeg 1 and Leeg 2, Boggs, Finnick, and many others. When they finally reach the Capital, Gale, Peeta and Katniss part ways. When Katniss reaches President Snow's mansion, she is severly injured by a bombing there in the mansion. She wakes up, discovering Prim, her younger sister, is dead, but the rebellion is won, and District 13's president, President Coin, is now the ruler of Panem. At the execution of President Snow, Katniss does the honours. However, she shoots President Coin instead. She is captured, and put in a room, then later released, with no consequences whatsoever. She goes back to District 12, feeling the effects of war and battle, but slowly recovers. In the end, Peeta and Katniss fall in love again and get married, having two children. However, they're aren't any Hunger Games, happening. But even in twenty years, Peeta and Katniss could never forget these events, haunting them for a lifetime.

Other: About the "Sexual Content" it's not blatant, if a kid is reading it they might not even get it that that is what the author was implying. So don't not let your kids read it on that account. As for the violence, all 3 books have violence, but it's not SO bad. I'm generally not into violence in books but I LOVED the Hunger Games.

Violence: You will have nightmares.
