What a great documentary, fun for the whole family. You will see the difference in what a factory farm chicken looks like and a backyard chicken. Anyone who cares about animal welfare will enjoy this! There is a global perspective on chickens, the history of the chickens in the USA, a chicken rescue, lovely chicken art, beautiful and fun chicken coops. I never knew chickens could walk on snow, and I presume most of us don't know where (or who) are food comes from. I give it top ranks for an awesome (fun)opening to star trek movie theme (even if you watch that much, this DVD is worth it!) and for exposing the "Chicken Underground" and a list of cities in the USA and Canada that permit chickens. Apparently, they are much safer than dogs as pets, and H5N1 (avian influenza) is only a problem in confinement animal feeding operations (CAFOs/factory farms). You might be motivated to start your own chicken underground...
