Dark and semi-disturbing but I really liked it. The characters were quite believable. As a long ago police dispatcher this movie about a rural, poor, southern Missouri community is a very realistic description of life.

A great job by Jennifer Lawrence in a realistic and scaringly compelling movie set in the Ozarks. This one is not upbeat but riveting nonetheless.

A beautiful haunting film. This movie takes place in a setting that most of us are not very familiar with (Appalachia) which adds to the interest. It is so sad to see the poverty and family problems in this familty, it really strikes home. You really want to root for the main girl in the film for her to find some salvation for her family and closure on her missing father. Great music and performances. Note that this is certainly not a movie all will enjoy. It is dark and gloomy and many of the characters in the movie are not likable but that is on purpose and really adds to the realism.
