Unexpectedly witty and entertaining. Great dialogue and character development. Hope there's more coming!
One of the Funniest Books I've ever read.
i really liked this book, even when i thought i wouldnt. im happy i read it. READ IT!!
it was okay but had a boring climax
I took a chance on this book because it had a blurb from Sherman Alexie on the cover. I'm so glad I did. My first impression was that this was just a light, fun, well-written, amusing read. But there is a kernel of meaning in here about making choices in your life and being the person you want to be, no matter what outside pressures and others' expectations of you may exist. Plus it features potato-hockey, so how can you go wrong? Sequel "Necromancing the Stone" due out in September 2012.
It was okay, had a fun time reading it. I like the story line and it's pretty straight foreward.
I loved this book - it was fast-paced, funny, and should definitely not be lumped in with all of the mediocre supernatural teen fiction flooding the publishing world these days! The main character, Sam, was easy to identify with, and his nemesis was evil in a way that gave me goosebumps. This book is suitable for older teens and will also appeal to 20-somethings.
Excellent read. The main character is so likeable. There is nudity and lots of dark morbid scenes that may not be suitable for younger readers. I hope there is a sequel.
Quick, easy, fun read.
