I read this series because I was such a big fan of the Hunger Games, and was amazed. Gregor and his sister find themselves in the Underland, a world beneath New York City and find their way to Regalia, the city where the Underlanders live. They discover that Gregor is to take part in a string prophecies that claims he is the foretold warrior who will save Regalia. The characters are all awesome, and the whole series was perfect. I would definitely recommend this series to fans of the Hunger Games and Percy Jackson!

I am a seven year old boy and I loved this book. I liked how the characters fell underground into a different world. It made me feel really excited to find out what was going to happen to the characters. The main character is just a normal boy who is around 11 years old. He has to solve lots of problems in order to get himself and his baby sister out of the Underland. His main challenge is to defeat lot of giant rats. He has a team of 11 other creatures to help him including his baby sister.

I once tried reading this when I was younger. I gave up on it but then after moving and getting into a new library I saw it and decided to give it a try again. Story's undoubtedly interesting, as worlds-underneath-worlds books go.

This series is much better than the Hunger Games! Super good book. I don't think I'll ever find another series that's this good

I remain a stalwart Suzanne Collins fan. This middle grade reader is well-paced, filled with good humor and commentary, and has a very likable cast of characters.

I picked up Gregor the Overlander partly because I enjoyed the Hunger Games trilogy and partly to become more familiar with some of the more popular children's novels. I also recommended it to my son for his latest book project. I was caught up in the book from the beginning. There is richness and believability to the characters that draws you into their world and sometimes leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. While it doesn’t have the depth of the Hunger Games, and it really shouldn’t since it is a children’s book, I found it a highly entertaining read.

Gregor and his two-year-old sister, Boots, fell through a... hole (?) and into the secret (kinda) underground world called the Underland (kinda obvious name). They learn of the Prophecy of Gray, and has to go on a quest to save their dad, who disappeared from their apartment two years ago and apparently fell through the same air duct as Gregor and Boots and has been imprisoned by the rats.
