The greatest superhero movie of all time still holds up as amazing today. Not as flashy as the recently released Man of Steel but still a great movie.

I liked the fact that the movie delves into Superman's origins at the beginning. Marlon Brando is great as the father, Jor-el. However, overall the movie was outdated and Margot Kidder comes off as a loud, irritating character and Christopher Reeves' Clark Kent is just too much a bungler to be humorous. Although Christopher Reeves is the penultimate Superman for my generation, and I admire him as an actor and person, particularly his courage after his spinal cord injury, this wasn't a great movie. Great storyline but hokey for this day and age. One additional note, my library copy of the DVD was VERY scratched and often stopped mid-scene...don't think this made much of a difference of my impression of the movie though.

For me, there will be no other than can take away the Clark Kent/Superman role from Christopher Reeve.
