Frank Mackey, now working as an underground cop, is unwillingly drawn back into the world of his dysfunctional family when a suitcase belonging to his girlfriend, who disappeared on the night they were to run away together, is found near their Dublin home. His determined search for revenge for her death costs both him and his family dearly and eventually justice is only served at a heartbreakingly high price.

I enjoyed this book...it's always an enigma to see how a family can be so distanced from one another emotionally and physically, and how much people can hurt the ones they love on so many levels.

I expected the ending, but loved getting there.

This, the third book in the Murder Squad series, has a bit less supernatural bent than some of the others, but that makes it no less thrilling. I enjoyed the family interaction, even though it was in no way pleasant.

A good murder mystery. I can usually tell who done it, but this time it wasn't predictable. Based in Ireland, the characters have great accents.

Faithful Place was a bit of a departure from Tana French's two previous books. Or, maybe not so much a departure as a maturing. Still snapping with intrigue, Faithful Place focuses more attention on the effect of relationships and memories -- some pleasant, some cursed, some tenuous, but all impactful -- as Frank Mackey tries to resolve the twenty-years-past disappearance of his first love. French is an excellent writer and, with Faithful Place, remains one of my favorites.

I love all of her books but this is one of Tana French's best. She takes everyday life and makes it magical in a way that very few authors can. Highly recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, suspense, murder and the whole lot. Very well written. She is brilliant, and I'm glad her books haven't been diluted into motion pictures although many friends of mine wish they would make movies based on her books.

Another wonderful book. I loved the way this author is able to make things and people feel so real. I can't wait to read the next one to see which characters life she will reveal
