this book was nice

"The Lightening Thief" by Rick Riordan is, and continues to be one of my all time faves when it comes to books. The story starts off with 12 year old Percy Jackson finding out...he's a demigod, the son of Poseidon! Sent to Camp Half Blood, Percy is thrown into a new, fantastic world where things he never knew existed live in harmony. However, times get rough when mythological drama forces Percy to go on a quest to retrieve an ancient object. Throughout his journey, Percy learns about himself and his kind, while making new friends and experiencing the whirlwind journey of a lifetime.

What I love about this book is that it makes you feel like you're actually in the setting. The awesome descriptions and amazing plotline is just crazy enough to seem realistic. The words paint a picture for the reader, and enchant you with a new point of view. For a fantasy read, this is definitely something worthwhile. It's something new, creative and on another level. The book manages to tie greek myths to an everyday teenager's life, and the funny, action filled bits are what keeps you turning pages. I'd recommend this to really any age group, who wants to try a fantasy read that's funny and action-packed.

This book was alsome! i have seen the Movie and the movie was waaaaay different that this book. this book was really good. i was reading the 5th book by mistake but then i went and took out this book ( this is the 1st book if you didnt know). the author of this book was so good that every word he wrote developed a picture in my mind. the words came to life! I thught that the movie was goign to be better than the book but then when i finished the book i knew this movie didnt put a lot of the parts in the book and characters because it was imposiable to flim them. i totally recomend this book to other reads beacuse this was a thriller! i love anything that have to do with fantasy so i enjoyed this book. this author gave breif descriptions of every event and he made a amazing picture with his coice of words. im glad i read this book because now i know what the movie "The Lightning theif ".have left out. right now this is the 2nd best author i admire.of corse Suzanne Collins the author of the Hunger games novels are still #1 at my list!

This book showed Percy becoming braver and fighting monsters in his quest to recover the lightning bolt for Zeus. He did not know he was a half blood in the beginning but he was able to complete his quest with much bravery.

Percy never really knew his father but when he finds out he has super powers his whole life turns upside down!

Percy Jackson is a troubled student attending Yancy Academy with ADHD and Dyslexia-well, that's the cover-up story. On a fieldtrip, his pre-algebra teacher, Mrs. Dodds, reveals her true identity as one of Hades' torturers-a Fury. Before he knows it, he gets taken to Camp Half-Blood, where he learns that the Greek myths are real, his Latin teacher, Mr. Brunner, is Chiron, that he is son of none other than the sea god, and that Zeus' master bolt has been stolen, and he is being blamed! Now he has until the summer solstice for him, Grover Underwood, and Annabeth Chase to find it and return it to Olympus (which is at the 600th floor of the Empire State) and prove his innocence...

In this awe inspiring novel about a young man named, Percy Jackson, who changed from a failing troubled student to the greatest hero of Olympus I was kept on the edge of my seat the whole time. Rick Riordan turns the dull Greek mythology into something we cannot stop ourselves from reading.
