My first impression was that the author (Radcliffe) knew how to describe things in such detail and in such a way, that it was amazing. I would love to see more writing like this today.

It was a long book, as the print is quite small, and it took forever to finally get to the castle of Udolpho, but overall the story was well done and worth the introductions and necessary background before finding the mysteries of Udolpho's Castle.

Radcliffe tied up all the remaining mysteries nicely in the last few chapters, and explained everything and how they all entwined. Some mysteries I guessed, and some I couldn't until she but it together for me.

Good book! Well worth the read!.
