This volume collects the penciler artist John Romita Jr's run on this monthly series. Son of John Romita Sr., who came to fame with his work on Spider-Man, Romita Jr. got his start on Iron Man and Spider-Man in the late seventies early eighties. While his drawing style on X-men is darker than the previous artists on this title, his collaboration with writer Chris Claremont really had some great storytelling. Highlights include the return of X-Men villain the Juggernaut (his version of this character is a fan favourite) and the Muntant hunting sentinel Nimrod. There's a lot good stuff in here, but too many to mention. I would recommend it to anyone who's familiar with the team of mutants

Frightening or Intense Scenes: These X-men stories here are a little darker than the previous ones before. It maybe intense for some children, but only comics code approved intensity (meaning: not that bad).

Violence: Marvel comic book = lots of super humans fighting. The violence is mostly pg rated depending on your point of view.
