It's always a good feeling when a new Foreigner book comes out and I get to immerse myself in this world and its characters once more. That said, a bit too much talk and not enough action in this one, although from the point of view of the main character, leading a diplomat's life of committees, reports and formal functions probably makes a refreshing break from being shot at. Plenty of tension about the activities of the Assassins' Guild, but mostly offstage. The adventures of young Cajeiri, restless and bored with the restrictions of being a politician's son, stole the show in this one.
