This series was a shock when I first encounter the first "making love" scene ; unaware this was an erotic romance didn't change the fact that I kept me going. Well E L James has a way with the plots and story line which make me as a reader to continue to read and want more out of it. This story, series shows people how strong love is and how love can change you in a way you never image. In the end I would have wished for another book because wanting to know how that stay strong together, raising their child and the developed in not their relationship but also people around them. That brings hope to everyone in the not only the Grey family but everyone they know Also I liked how she added Christian side of how he thinks for one part. 5 star book :D

It would be nice if people would comment in general terms when speaking about the content of a book so the comment does not spoil the content for the rest of us if we have not yet read the book! Re: Nevishay: Christian becoming a good, loving father.

I enjoyed the series very much, however, I really wanted to count the number of times that "Oh My..." was used in the series. For my own snaity, I did not count the number of times it was used. I liked the defiance aspect of the series just as much as I enjoyed the kinkier stuff in the books. I am looking forward to the movie, which I hope should be good.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It got way more better than the last two books. I honestly hated the series at first, but now I love it! I really wish (I know this sounds lame) if she wrote a book about their kids, like a second series. Same romance polt but with less BDSM. I had to skip all the BDSM parts in the first book, and honestly, there was nothing to read.

A wonderful love story! readers will fall in love with Ana and Chrisian. The 3 stories should be read in order, FIFTY SHADES FIFTY SHADES DARKER, FIFTY SHADES FREED. To really enjoy, the love, passion and lust of E.L. JAMES. What a great story teller.

Good job Christian! Who knows one can turn a used to be innocent and inexperienced girl into some kind of "sex addict".

Explosively riveting, another page-turner- very satisfying conclusion to a great love story. I felt that Christian and Ana came full circle from a damaged relationship to a fulfilling life together. Hands down- one of the best love stories ever written. E.L. James is now on my short list of favorite authors. At the end of this book, Ms.James hints at a continuation. I say Bring it on!!!

11/12 - Overall this trilogy has left me feeling disturbed and weirdly guilty. The first book was definitely the worst - in some parts disgusting and others scary and rage inducing. The second was considerably improved, going from a 1 to a 3 star rating. I didn't feel the need for an urgent mind shower to wash some of the images out of my head after reading it. This one would probably get 2.5 stars if the half star was available. There were some disturbing scenes that are seared into my brain and keep popping into my mind during everyday activities; and there was some romance and a happy, if unlikely, ending. I haven't been this unnerved and distracted by a book since I read my first romance at the age of 12 (btw that was an Avon historical romance written in the 80s). Regarding the happy ending I don't see how Christian and Ana can sustain their lifestyle with multiple children getting in the way, and into rooms they're not supposed to be in. The constant repetition of phrases by both Ana and Christian got really old, really fast. How many times can she say "Oh, Christian.", how many times can he say "Fair point well made." before the reader can be expected to get bored and give up? I'm glad that Ana finally started to stand up for herself, but at the same time I spent most of the book angry with her constant need to defy him. Does she enjoy feeling terror from the reaction of her husband to her errant ways? I was also pleased that she was able to become more accustomed to Christian's wealth. The whole way through the previous books I kept thinking 'What's wrong with this woman?' If I was her I would be eagerly accepting any insanely expensive luxury he was willing to lavish on me and asking 'Can I have some more?' As another reviewer mentioned, I was surprised that their baby wasn't born brain damaged after all the drinking she did and then practically being kicked in the head by Hyde. If James were to do a fourth book in the series I think it should be set 10 years in the future so we can see how the BDSM lifestyle fits in with curious nearly-teenagers running around the house investigating everything and demanding their parents' attention at all hours.

frankly its boring. boring. boring. worst thing you can do to a reader is bore them. nowhere near as exciting sexually as the hype suggests. awful writing style - if i have to read "my inner goddess" & "my subconscious" once more i will scream. i actually got a pen & paper & kept a log of all the times shes uses those 2 silly phrases in this book & it was times. i am not joking. x inner goddess & x subconscious. just bad. awful to have to read pages & pages of all those emails! terrible writing style. grey is a moron. i have no idea why people love this. the sex isnt even exciting! if u have not already done most of the things in this book, you are terribley boring. perhaps its because i am the same nationality as the author that i find the sex normal except for 2 scenes - the whip on the c... & the beating with the belt - those are not remotely erotic. all the rest? thought everyone had been there & done that. i mean, book thinks calling your bits "my sex" during a sex scene? awful writing & exciting sex only to those who are prudish
