Opinion

From Library Staff

Oh Smitten Kitchen how do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
1. pear and cranberry gingersnap crumble.
2. butternut squash and carmelized onion galette.
3. Is it really necessary to go on?

By the author of the blog "The Smitten Kitchen," just the photos are enough to inspire you to cook!

I love these recipes and Deb's introductions to them. Her description of grilled cheese vs. panini will make you run to the store and start grilling.

Great cookbook! We liked it so much that we purchased our own copy and use it frequently.

I love this book because it gave me permission to openly eat iceberg lettuce again, so unfashionable for so long but now ubiquitous on hipster menus everywhere. Everything tastes good slathered in blue cheese dressing though. The broccoli slaw is the best.

A very entertaining read, with tasty recipes and gorgeous pictures. Perelman's advice about the tools to properly outfit a kitchen on a budget is very helpful.

Recipes created with love from the tiny NY kitchen of foodies' food blogger.

We've never gone wrong with ANY of her recipes.

I learned to splat-cock a chicken from this book! . Perelman gives terrific advice. Who knew it was best to skip the big fat chickens and buy the small ones instead. The apple cake is yummy too.

We've added several recipes from this lovely book to our menu rotation at home - the Sesame-Spiced Turkey Meatballs and Smashed Chickpea Salad are particularly delicious, as are the Apple Cider Caramels.

Really enjoy this cookbook and the recipes are really accessible. Great photography too. Love it when cookbooks have it...makes all the difference! Recommend!

Deb Perelman's blog has been a huge favourite for years. I cannot wait to get hold of this book. See smittenkitchen.com for some teasers.
