Comment
Add a CommentThis is really just a book of top-50 lists from several independent bookstores. And while I'm a big supporter of independent bookstores, this isn't particularly useful as a reader's guide. It's heavy on fiction, & each list is in alphabetical order by author. There's very little context given about any of the books listed and no thematic organization - a Mo Willems book might end up at the end of a list of contemporary fiction with a poet and a biography thrown in. So if you're interested in children's books, say, or in poetry or biography, you have to wade through the rest. Nancy Pearl's books are far superior in their user-friendliness.
