Reporter Camille Preaker tries to unravel the truth of her own troubled past as she returns to her hometown to investigate the murders of two preteen girls. Something twisted is definitely going on but who is responsible for it?

I have read all of Gillian Flynn's novels this summer. This one was just as haunting and impossible to put down as the others.

Fantastic book! Unputdownable. It's dark and haunting, and the characters absolutely feel real.

Gillian Flynn is quickly becoming one my favorite authors! I couldn't get enough of Gone Girl and am just as pleased with Sharp objects! Dark, spooky, and surprising!

I started my Gillian Flynn reading a year ago with attempting to read Gone Girl... 3 times. I have yet to finish that book. A friend strongly urged me to read Dark Places- which I loved. I then red this book- Sharp Objects and love this even more. Dark, disturbing, and just when you think you have it figured out you don't! The characters are well developed and having once lived in a small rural Missouri town I could see the scene playing out in my head perfectly. This is my favorite book from the author!

From the very beginning you know the characters are all sick and twisted in their own way. Not as exciting as Gone Girl but Gillian Flynn remains an excellent writer for the genre. I couldn't put it down.

This was very good! Gillian Flynn is one of my favorite authors. It takes a lot to completely engross me in a book and this was totally enthralling! I know it is dark but it was unlike anything I have read. Beside her last two of course but what a thrilling writer!

Good, but dark
Similar to Gone Girl in tone

I kept saying that I needed to stop reading this book as it was quite dark and quite disturbing...but I just couldn't put the book down!

When I'd been sad, I hurt myself. Amma hurt other people. When I'd wanted attention, I'd submitted myself to boys: Do what you want; just like me. Amma’s sexual offerings seemed a form of aggression. Long skinny legs and slim wrists and high, babied voice, all aimed like a gun. Do what I want; I might like you.
