Item Details

"A rambunctious group of five college friends steal away for a weekend of debauchery in an isolated country cabin, only to be attacked by horrific supernatural creatures in a night of endless terror and bloodshed. Sound familiar? Just wiat. As the teens begin to exhibit standard horror movie behavior, a group of technicians in a control room are scrutinizing, and sometimes even controlling, every move the terrified kids make! With their efforts continually thwarted by an all-powerful 'eye in the sky,' do they have any chance of escape?"--Container.

Opinion

From Library Staff

Joss Whedon (of Buffy fame) gives the familiar storyline his very own, hilarious take.

Funny movie if you like goofy horror like Scream. If not, I'd skip it.
Not scary at all. My 11 year old sister can't handle horror and didn't get scared, but laughed at their reactions.
Plus all the main guys are hot and the girls are pretty and Joss Whedon and Sigourney Weaver collaborated. What's more to ask?
Oh, for fun, count how many people are in this that have worked with Joss before. I found at least two. (Fran Kranz <3 and Amy Acker.)

i give very few movies all 5 stars, but this one earned it. It's original. it offers amazingly fun twists and the ending is BRILLIANT. DONT look into what it's about, just think of it as the cliche "5 college friends in a cabin for the weekend"... because this movie is ANYTHING BUT cliche.

Ever wonder why the people in horror movies act so dumb? This movie gives you one possible explanation. This horror almost-comedy pokes fun at horror movie clichés (without exactly spoofing them) while being a modern-day twist on Lovecraftian stories or The Lottery. The trick is not to take it seriously. I enjoyed it as a casual watch.

I enjoyed it. It was cheesy and unsuspecting but different from your normal run of the mill horror movie. It reminded me of the Truman Show movie only bloody. I was surprised to see Sigorney Weaver (with her successful and award winning repertoire) and even Chris Helmsworth. I thought he had made a name for himself with Thor and Avengers but this movie was done in 2009/2010 and pushed out to 2012 so im sure he needed the money and wanted to get some b-movies under his belt. At any rate I wont complain and slam it too much. It was free with a few laughs so enjoy.
