I loved this book so so so much. I finished it like in a day. I read it for my children literature seminar course at brooklyn college. I love this book so much. Excellent classical book.

it is also more like a mystery book.

Such a wonderful book for girls of ANY age! A story of pure innocence and good things. If anybody doesn't know this fabulous story, it is about a girl named Mary, who is abandoned and unloved by everybody, so she becomes a sour, ugly girl. Until her parents die, and nobody is able to care for her, so she is sent to her Uncle's house, a mansion is Yorkshire England, where she is left to herself, and finds a secret hidden garden in the yard of the mansion, She meets all sorts of new friends, including Colin, her Uncle's son who is like her, sickly and disagreeable from neglect. But slowly, the magic of the garden changes all of that. It really is a classic, extraordinary book, that any girl would love to read, or have read to her. It was written back in the early 1900's, so some of the language may be a bit difficult, but it is not as difficult as most, and it can be a great tool to introduce classic books to your children.

I really enjoyed it, my first "classic". I am so glad that I was reminded of this novel. I wasn't sure what to expect but it outdid my expectations.

That night Colin slept without once awakening, and when he opened his eyes in the morning he lay still and smiled without knowing it-smiled because he felt so curiosly comfortable. It was actually nice to be awake, and he turned over and stretched his limbs luxuriously."
