A very good story that deals with the obvious as a murder mystery. However, if you look deeper, it delves into the social tensions that women who had worked hard during the war years and had felt useful and needed dealt with being relegated to their former roles as wives and mothers after the war. It deals with their struggles, failures and triumphs as they work to find a new fulfilling role in a new world. They are no longer willing to be put back into the box of subserviency and being only seen but not heard. In this respect WC can be seen as an active contributor to the emergence of a new type of women and a part author of the change of women's societal role.

Yet another dark brooding tale from the BBC of a serial killer at large in London striking beautiful young girls. The gimmick here is that these humorless, stiff-as-cardboard vigilantes are super brilliant former code-breakers. As the “detectives” divine a pattern to the murders, one amazing coincidence piles on top of the other. Good acting and visuals are not enough to tempt me to see the next series.

I remember not being able to accept her ambition, which was adhered to by psychic power. The results proved to be right, though. Although, in a quasi-material respect, the "Psychic Sylvia Browne" was proved to be wrong regarding the life "Amanda Berry", and with implications of what was possible in the "British Monarchy and the Royal society"; she could've been enslaved to her actions by an overseer. "Think of what the Papacy had done to people like her, during the 'Roman Inqusition', as told by the author 'Rainer Decker'."

Great British mystery drama with wonderful characters - and a fine example of women rushed into service because of necessity who are perfectly capable of outdoing most of the men around them. Highly recommended!!

This was one of the most intelligent and amazing shows I've ever watched. All four actors are brilliant but Anna Maxwell Martin is superb. I could watch this series again and again. Set and costume design are also incredible with infinite attention to detail. Well done!

Top marks for this mini-series! Excellent story and acting by all. The time period was also caught very well. I'm looking forward to series 2. Checking Wikipedia, though, I see that this series was not renewed for a 3rd series.

I learned on the Bletchley Circle Watchers facebook page that ITV has decided not to run season 3. Such a shame as this is such a wonderful series. There's a petition circulating but i doubt it will help. The facebook page gives info on who to contact at ITV.
