Cress sits in her isolated tower, floating in a spacepod, an observer to the whole world. Her ability to act is far from confined though, thanks to an expertise in computers that opens up new possibilities for her and for Cinder. As the latest fairytale to become incorporated, Cress' story receives the primary attention, with chapters from the point of view of other characters weaving in and out. Like the previous two, the author plays with the core aspects of Rapunzel's tale, altering them in very clever and modern ways. Her narrative genius only shines further when considering the incredible ways in which she combines these disparate tales, and the amount of planning this required. She sets things up well in advance, as is proved by Captain Thorne only now being revealed as part of Rapunzel's story. This unexpected yet pleasing twist, broadens his character and our understanding of him. As for Cress, we get to experience all her wonder and doubts once she sets foot outside of her cage into the world. In true fairytale fashion, Cress dreams of being saved by a prince, and because of her dream-filled nature she wonderfully rounds out a cast that is largely plagued by the hardships of life. Time is running out for them all though as the wedding day approaches, and Levana's sinister goals reach fruition. In this spellbinding third installment, Cinder and her allies must come up with a plan to stop her, all the while avoiding detection, capture and certain death. Things are never as easily solved as in a fairytale.

I love this series. I hope the winter book is as long as this one or longer. I couldn't put this book down, the rapunzel twist was as amazing as the other two, and I love how they're traveling through the world instead of just staying in one place. Really enjoyed it. Funny. Romantic. Adventurous. :D

Love this book!! I cant wait for winter! (coming out november 27 2015) also theres a special book coming out in january all about Queen Levana!

This series was recommended to me by a friend of mine. The moment I started reading it I knew I loved it. The idea was so original and so new to me. I can't wait for the next book!

Another really good book in this series. The thing I don't like about this series is that Meyer is trying too hard to pair off/find a romantic partner for each character. I personally do not approve of Thorne and Cress having a romantic relationship. I always imagined Thorne as being in his twenties to thirties. And Cress is sixteen. I think that there is too much of an age gap for them to be in the aforementioned relationship together. Also there is a not so nice part where Luna's prisoner of war (not mentioning any names) is being tortured. A good ending, though.

I couldn't ever put this book down!!! It was very captivating!! I love the twist on Rapunzel and how she ends up standing up against what she thinks is wrong once she meets Cinder and the gang and really starts to talk to them. I absolutely hated it when I found out that Winter wasn't going to be out for another year! But it's definitely worth the wait if its as good as the previous three books!!!
(P.S. if Marissa Meyer is reading this then please hurry up and write Winter.. I REALLY want to read it!!! :) Thanks!!!) This book is a total must!

I was really worried about this book as I loved Scarlet so much and I didn't want to be let down...Refreshingly (from a series of trilogies that disappointed me) I loved it! A fantastic follow up to Scarlet and Cinder! Although I will say that if you like Scarlet she isn't in the book too much (sadly as she is my favorite character). I can't wait for Winter!

“Captain?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you think it was destiny that brought us together?"
He squinted and, after a thoughtful moment, shook his head. "No. I'm pretty sure it was Cinder.”

"Pause one second. And be honest." Thorne held up a finger. "Are you having a mental breakdown right now?"
