I didn't really get into the characters until near the end of the book. it ended kind of abrupt.

Meet Jackson Brodie, PI, but with his different clients who are all looking for closure as some mystery that has succumbed one of their loved ones. You meet Julia & Amelia, Theo, and Shirley who need Jackson's assistance. But there is some self-discovery made by the characters as you get to know them. Enjoyed - mystery series - book 1

This novel begins with three tragic case histories and then becomes an interwoven tale. The writing is decent, but I didn't care much for the book. It is quite possible that I am incapable of following so many trailing threads simultaneously. Just not my cup of tea, I guess. Maybe it's yours.

Twisting tale with good character descriptions. A good literary mystery.

I saw this series on tv and I loved it (mostly because of Jason Isaacs..) so thought I'd read the book. It was terribly written, in my opinion. *gag*

This seemed like three short stories with the pages shuffled. It wasn't bad, but it was challenging to remember where we were in time and who was connected to each case.

Loved the leisurely way the stories unfolded and merged into one.

I really liked this book. I was inspired to read it after seeing PBS's airing of the BBC TV series. The stories were engaging, heartbreaking, dramatic, and by the end, the answers to everyone's questions had been answered. A great read.

Love how this story comes together. Prompted me to read the author's complete resume.
