Item Details

Dr. Ryan Stone is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. On a seemingly routine spacewalk, the shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left, and the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Wow -- Loved the special effects. Story had a lot of holes in it -- but one really needed to flow with the tale rather than scrutinize it.

To me it was an uplifting story about how a woman got a grip and came into her own.

The last scene where she reblesses her life on earth felt really real and fantastic. Sandra Bullock did a great job.

This is a 2013 science fiction thriller directed, co-written, co-produced and co-edited by Alfonso Cuarón.
It depicts the mid-orbit destruction of their space shuttle and their subsequent attempt to return to Earth.
The British company Framestore spent more than three years creating most of the film's visual effects, which comprise over 80 of its 91 minutes.
The 144-minute "Making of Gravity" is a fascinating, amazing yet entertaining documentary you would love to enjoy.
Although the story is a simple and straightforward, it is a gripping and suspenseful film.

I thought it might be 'too slow',.. but the 91 minutes sped by quickly for me. The people badmouthing this film as "Bad Science" should at least TRY to be specific. Just what are they claiming is inaccurate ??!

Good acting, great action, breathtaking scenery,.. works for me.

When I expected this film to win an Oscar for best picture, I was shocked that it didn’t, but I concider Gravity to win best picture instead of 12 Years of Slave, as it was the highlighted film to win many Oscars as Slumdog Milllionaire. Gravity was intense and gripping! This movie was shot as a simple survival story in space... but I connected to it even more at a much deeper level. The way that the cinematography was shot, I felt I was in space floating with Sandra Bullock's character, Dr. Ryan Stone... that was a technical achievement in itself... But I was also able to feel what it was like to be in the mind of her character. I feared with her, struggled to survive with her, felt the hopelessness of life and accepted death with her, and then, found air, found new life, and was born again with her. Sandra Bullock has put on an Oscar worthy performance, and it sure did help with Alfonso Cuaron being at the helm to guide this film. What a genius. It's been awhile since I've been deeply absorbed into the thoughts and feelings of a character on screen. This movie was truly a journey and an experience into the mind and soul of Dr. Ryan Stone's character. Wow, such an amazing film. An unforgettable experience! Must see in theaters with the biggest screen you can find. Therefore, this is why I like Gravity, as it should’ve won an Oscar for best pictutre, but someday, it will with other significant awards, like Golden Globe, BAFTAs, and etc………….

203 copies?! What a waste. The movie is so bad that, at one point, a thought had crossed my mind that it was a parody. A "great scientist" hurriedly paging through manuals and then pressing buttons randomly - you can't be serious. But maybe physics teachers could use this movie in class for "who can find most glaring instances of disregard and ignorance of basic laws of physics in this movie ".

Silly premise, not much acting since not much to act on, bad science, ridiculous effects, and the surprise twist was only a surprise since it was so implausible to begin with. I have no idea why this turkey got the press it did.

Not exactly my kind of movie. Onle 7 cast members (2 of which you actually see), and they could have done a little more to spice it up a bit.

i hate this move.
first she is not hot.
second the movie was so far from reality it made me mad.
maybe they should ask people about space and nasa before trying to make a movie.
she would not have lived lane and simple.
its not like the movie is based on a fictional situation like aliens predators.
its is made to be based on fact, but the only fact in this movie was buttons have lights hat coincide with the pushing of the button.

The director flaunts the laws of physics, logic, and the concept of a story. It is too poorly done to enjoy a ride of fantasy. The nominations show that Hollywood has a lot of morons that cannot discern a well told and enticing story from a kludge. The only thing missing was a visual Deus Ex Machina.
